The tail fin of Su-27 #31 was painted with PLAAF's insignia and its serial number
-- 10321, where 31 (the code for the aircraft) is taken apart and inserted into 102 (the number for
the unit, 1st Division). This is a common scheme adopted by PLAAF and PLA Naval Aviation. Recent photos
indicate that the nose code number has been removed, leaving the tail serial number only in bright yellow
color. A few Su-27s may have retired afer nearly 20 years of service. Currently the remaining Su-27s are
scattered in various J-11 units.

This is J-11, an Su-27SK assembled in China. The aircraft appears to adopt the same
color and numbering schemes as the original Su-27SK imported from Russia, but all the signs and markings
are believed to have been painted in Chinese rather than in Russian.Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N 01 10081 07 11037 02* 30002 51 40541 01$ 10021 02 10082 08 11038 04 30004 52 40542 02 10022 03 10083 09 11039 05 30005 53 40543 03 10023 04 10084 10 11130 06 30006 56 40546 05 10025 05 10085 11 11131 08 30008 58 40548 11 10121 06 10086 12 11132 09 30009 59 40549 13 10123 07 10087 13 11133 10 30100 60 40640 15 10125 08 10088 15 11135 12 30102 62 40642 19 10129 09 10089 16 11136 13 30103 63 40643 23 10223 15 10185 17 11137 14 30104 67 40647 30 10320 18 10188 18 11138 15 30105 70 40740 02 31002 20 10280 19 11139 16 30106 77 40747 03 31003 21 10281 20 11230 17 30107 79 40749 04 31004 57 40507 21 11231 18 30108 80 40840 08 31008 60 40600 23 11233 29 30209 57 10577 17 31107 61 40601 24 11234 30 30300 66 10676 04 41084 62 40602 25 11235 06 20056 67 10677 25 41285 68 40608 26 11236 07 20057 69 10679 26 41286 27 11237 10 20150 70 10770 55 40515 28 11238 15 20155 72 10772 05# 81085 30 11330 18 20158 06 81186 31 11331 20 20250 08 81088 32 11332 10 81180 33 11333 34 11334 35 11335 37 11337 38 11338 # J-11BS in service with PLAN 8th Division. - Last Updated 2/2/12 |

All 38 Su-30MKK fighter bombers China ordered in 1999 were delivered within one year
from December 2000 to late 2001. This relatively fast pace demonstrated the urgency of PLAAF's requirement
for a modern fighter bomber. The table below summarizes all examples identified so far. Additional 38
Su-30MKKs ordered in 2001 were delivered in 2003. 24 Su-30MK2 were acquired by PLAN in 2004. One Su-30MKK (#01)
crashed into a moutain during a training mission in April 2002 and was later replaced.Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N 01* 61081 01 11041 59 20599 01¥ 81041 02 61082 02 11042 60 02 81042 04 61084 03 11043 62 03 81043 05 61085 04 11044 63 20693 04 81044 07 61087 05 11045 64 05 81045 08 61088 06 65 20695 06 81046 11 61181 07 11047 66 20696 07 81047 13 61183 08 11048 69 08 81048 14 61184 09 11049 70 20790 09 81049 15 61185 10 11140 71 10 81140 17 61187 11 11141 72 20792 11 81141 18 61188 12 11142 73 20793 12 81142 13 11143 74 20794 13 81143 14 75 20795 14 81144 15 11145 76 20796 15 81145 16 11146 01 40001 16 81146 17 11147 02 40002 17 81147 19 03 40003 19 81149 04 40004 20 81240 05 40005 21 81241 06 40006 22 81242 11 40101 23 81243 14 40104 24 81244 15 40105 16 40106 17 40107 18 40108 * Su-30MKKs in service with PLAAF Flight Test & Training Base. - Last Updated 1/3/12 |

A PLAAF JH-7A was landing after a training mission. Around 24 JH-7s
were produced before XAC ran out of 50 Spey MK202 turbofans imported in 70s. More JH-7/JH-7As were produced
after surplus Spey MK202s (~70) were imported from UK in 2001. Currently JH-7A is still in production
powered by indigenous WS-9 engines.
