The tail fin of Su-27 #31 was painted with PLAAF's insignia and its serial number
-- 10321, where 31 (the code for the aircraft) is taken apart and inserted into 102 (the number for
the unit, 1st Division). This is a common scheme adopted by PLAAF and PLA Naval Aviation. Recent photos
indicate that the nose code number has been removed, leaving the tail serial number only in bright
yellow color.
The serial numbers for the Su-27 fleet (identified so far) are listed below:

This is J-11, an Su-27SK assembled in China. The aircraft appears to adopt the same
color and numbering schemes as the original Su-27SK imported from Russia, but all the signs and markings
are believed to have been painted in Chinese rather than in Russian.Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N 01 10081 07 11037 04 30004 58 40548 02 10082 08 11038 05 30005 59 40549 03 10083 09 11039 10 30100 60 40640 04 10084 11 11131 13 30103 63 40643 05 10085 12 11132 14 30104 70 40740 06 10086 13 11133 15 30105 79 40749 07 10087 17 11137 16 30106 80 40840 08 10088 19 11139 17 30107 50? 40500 09 10089 20 11230 18 30108 57 40507 10 10180 21 11231 29 30209 62 40602 15 10185 23 11233 30 30300 68 40608 20 10280 25 11235 07 20057 54 10574 01$ 10021 27 11237 15 20155 57 10577 02 10022 28 11238 66 10676 03 10023 31 11331 67 10677 11 10121 32 11332 69 10679 13 10123 33 11333 23 10223 35 11335 - Last Updated 7/18/10 |

All 38 Su-30MKK fighter bombers China ordered in 1999 were delivered within one year
from December 2000 to late 2001. This relatively fast pace demonstrated the urgency of PLAAF's requirement
for a modern fighter bomber. The table below summarizes all examples identified so far. Additional 38
Su-30MKKs ordered in 2001 were delivered in 2003. 24 Su-30MK2 were acquired by PLAN in 2004. One Su-30MKK (#01)
crashed into a moutain during a training mission in April 2002 and was later replaced.Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N Code S/N 01* 61081 01 59 20599 01¥ 81041 04 61084 02 60 02 81042 07 61087 03 11043 62 03 81043 13 61183 04 11044 63 04 81044 14 61184 05 64 05 81045 15 61185 06 65 20695 06 81046 07 11047 66 20696 07 81047 08 11048 69 08 81048 10 11140 70 20790 09 81049 11 11141 71 10 81140 12 11142 72 20792 11 81141 13 73 20793 12 81142 14 74 20794 13 81143 15 11145 75 20795 14 81144 16 11146 76 20796 15 81145 17 11147 04 40004 16 81146 18 05 40005 17 81147 19 06 40006 19 81149 14 40104 20 81240 15 40105 21 81241 16 40106 22 81242 17 40107 23 81243 24 81244 * Su-30MKKs in service with PLAAF Flight Test & Training Base. - Last Updated 6/25/10 |
JH-7/7A

A PLAAF JH-7A was landing after a training mission. Around 24 JH-7s
were produced before XAC ran out of 50 Spey MK202 turbofans imported in 70s. More JH-7/JH-7As were produced
after surplus Spey MK202s (~70) were imported from UK in 2001. Currently JH-7A is still in production
powered by indigenous WS-9 engines.
